1.7 Mackay Road, #7 Unit #7, West Turin, NY 13325

Property Description

Own a wooded piece of one of Upstate New York's most popular outdoor recreation regions with this 5.25-acre property in West Turin, NY. Rolling terrain and a healthy mix of northern hardwoods-including sugar maple, beech and yellow birch-give the property classic North Country character. Deer sign throughout the woods makes it a natural choice for hunters, while a suitable off-grid camp or camper site provides a place to create your own recreational headquarters. The property is easily accessible from a year-round road that is open to snowmobiles and ATVs. That location puts trail riding front and center, with West Turin surrounded by the extensive snowmobile and motorized recreation network of the Tug Hill region. Snow Ridge Ski Resort is approximately 10 minutes away for downhill skiing and winter fun. Just two miles away, Highmarket Inn Bar and Restaurant and Whiskey Jack's are popular stops for the area's snowmobile community. If you prefer exploring on foot, skis or snowshoes, Lesser Wilderness State Forest offers the Carpenter Road Trail System along with miles of forest access roads. Sand Flats State Forest provides additional hunting and primitive recreational opportunities. The surrounding region is also known for its scenic water features. Hike the gorge at Whetstone Gulf State Park, visit Agers Falls on the Moose River or explore the waterfall and riverfront nearby Lyons Falls. Compact enough to maintain easily yet large enough for a private wooded camp, this parcel makes an excellent jumping-off point for year-round Tug Hill adventures.
